Country Sports

From the valley of the River Isla, steep hills clad in a mixture of ancient and regenerated woodland rise to heather moorland cut through by narrow gorges. This topography supports an astonishing diversity of wildlife and offers not only a very exciting variety of challenging birds, stalking and fishing, but also sensational views.

The Estate provides a terrific and varied sporting experience amidst a dramatic landscape on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. The low ground, steep hills, established and new woods, deep gullies and marginal grassland on the fringe of the grouse moor provide a wonderful mix of drives, with testing birds for the best of guns.

The Estate offers a mixed bag of partridge, pheasant and sporting ducks either as fully-driven, mini-driven or walked up shooting. We can provide walked up grouse over Pointers (only for those taking accommodation at Brewlands Lodge), woodcock, roe and red deer stalking, duck flighting, clay pigeon shooting, simulated stalking, stalking for photographers and rifle target shooting.

We also offer salmon, grayling, wild brown trout fishing and fishing lessons for any level from beginner, including children.

In the UK country sports are often booked up to a year in advance so do please get in touch as early as possible.

The keepers make it great fun, with lots of surprises. We recommend this activity to everyone.

Clay Pigeon lessons with the Estate’s Head Keeper can be arranged for all levels of experience including complete beginners. The Estate can provide appropriate guns. Spectators welcome: the view is worth it!
